Piggy Bank - Oink Oink

As some of you know, my gorgeous baby dog passed away before Christmas. A friend of mine who used to be a vetinary nurse came over in the middle of the night and stayed up with me until I could take my precious Chi to the vets, Her little 3 year old son slept in my bed whilst we cried and talked and waited.

It transpired that he didn't have a piggy bank... and I had one I bought at the NEC so I made him one and Santa dropped it off on Christmas Eve, It was the first thing I made after that awful day. Decoupatch is very therapeutic. Just grab a cup of tea, put on the TV and get the brush and glue, rip the paper and start sticking... of all the ones I have made they never look wrong - they always seem to look perfect.

When you feel down and not feeling creative, this is the perfect answer to keeping your hands busy :)

I thought about putting googly eyes on it but thought that may look a bit creepy :)

Get inspired with yellow and green

The theme this week at Crafty Purple Frog is "Get Inspired with Yellow and Green"... so I did :)

The focal stamp is by crafts and me and I used floral stamps by Lavinia stamp and Inkylicious and the moon is by Clarity Stamp. The background is brayered. I made 4 of these cards in different colours / styles so expect to see a variation on a theme coming soon. :)

I stamped the girl then masked her off whilst I brayered the background. I then coloured her with copic ciaos and stamped the foliage. Then mounted the piece with a few embelishments.

Scary / Halloween Inspired

Hi everyone, so the theme this week at Sweet Pea Stampers is Scary / Halloween. I love Halloween! So I took advantage of using one of my new Sweet Pea Stamps that recently arrived from the US - The Ghost by Rebecca Sinz. She is coloured with the grey tones of pro-markers.

The background is black card which I added fusible webbing to, heated it to go all web like and added silver embossing powder on the top. The border is a punch by Martha Stewart and a little ribbon and silver flowers and my Halloween inspired card was done :)

Emboss It

This week at Sweet Pea Stampers, the theme is Emboss it... So I bought the Cuttle Bug Forest Branches Embossing folder to go with this lovely image. I used Tim Holtz Core-dinations card and sanded it to show the core of the card. I then distressed the edges of the card and the image and used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to edge the image.. The corners are made from a Spellbinder die I cut into 4 and used a Die Cuts with a View Faux metal tag - "Dream". Added 2 gem brads to that and this is the result :) Simple but lovely.

I mounted it on silver card and used pewter corners to compliment her hair.

I am also including this for In a Sweet Pea Dream - because ANYTHING GOES :)
